About Me

INDUCTEE
International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers

ALUMNUS
The Foundation Workshop

You're here because you value fine photography and seek an accomplished, creative, and friendly photographer. So let me tell you about me and my work. I was born in Florida, grew up on a farm in Georgia, played the class jester, survived a wild and crazy youth, worked several dirty jobs, became a U.S. Navy FMF Corpsman, served with the Marines on Okinawa, traveled the world, and lived in Europe and Asia.

My rich life experience resulted in a deep fascination with people and the human condition, which led me to study the humanities--art, literature, religion, history, psychology, philosophy--culminating in a master's degree.

My photography is an extension of that curiosity and exploration.

Fine art photojournalism is my approach to wedding photography, and my goal is to create photographs that tell a story in a visually interesting way. The majority of my wedding coverage is candid moments taken unobtrusively as events naturally unfold with no direction or interference from the photographer. But I also enjoy creating bridal portraits that include some direction and collaboration.

I am an experienced and award-winning inductee of the International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers and alumnus of the Foundation Workshop, the premier workshop for wedding photojournalists.

My personality is easy-going yet professional. I love to get to know my clients and help make their wedding a wonderful experience--one they can relive through photographs.

My clients say that I'm easy to work with; I listen to them; I stay calm under pressure; I create candid photographs without being noticed; I take time to get to know them and provide personalized service; and I create "very emotional and energetic" work that shows respect for my subjects.

Here's a typical client comment: "Shaun has a very creative eye and can take what would normally be an ordinary photograph and turn it into an extraordinary photo. We were thrilled with how well our wedding and engagement photos turned out, and we were so glad that we picked Shaun."

I purposefully operate a small studio with a limited number of clients. The benefit to you is that I'm able to offer a personal relationship and customized service to better meet my clients' unique needs, resulting in a more fun, satisfying experience for both client and photographer.

Enjoying the BeachI enjoy life with my family on the beautiful Gulf Coast (Florida panhandle) with its emerald waters and sugar sands that make weddings so relaxing and fun in Panama City and Destin area. I'm a bit of a Renaissance man and have myriad interests, ranging from athletics to motorcycles to musical instruments. I also love Italian food and making dishes from Mario Batali cookbooks, some of which include making my own (yes, homemade) pasta dough!

I enjoy spending time with clients and their families and creating photographs that will serve as the only lasting memory of their wedding. I find that the feeling is always mutual, and my clients who hire me are always glad they did.
